Application deadline: 31 March 2025We run a series of very successful and popular week-long vacation placements in June and July each year in our Hull office.Who do we want?You must be available for a week in the summer of 2025 (applications for 2024 are closed)At that time you should have completed the second year of a law degree, or the third year of an academic non-law degree, and be looking to start a training contract in September 2027.You must have the equivalent of three grade Bs at A level, and, if you have not already done so, you must be on target to attain a 2:1 or above in your degree.Above all we are looking for candidates with the right attitude. We expect our staff to be motivated and enthusiastic, and we look for these qualities in our work experience students.Unlike some firms, we do not believe that work experience should involve photocopying or making tea! You will work on real client matters alongside our trainees, solicitors and lawyers by getting involved in drafting documents, conducting research, meeting clients and going to court.Our programme is organised to allow you to spend time in each of the firm's core departments to experience the sort of work we do. We structure our placements like a mini training contract, and a detailed timetable will be issued to you at the start of your placement.You will participate in group exercises and attend a range of informal presentations to learn how Rollits operates as a business. At the end of the week you will be required to make a presentation to members of the firm and your work experience colleagues. When recruiting trainees one of the many things we look for is relevant work experience because it indicates a genuine interest in pursuing a legal career based on an appreciation of the reality of legal work. Work experience - Field Seymour Parkes

The closing date for applications is 30th March 2025.We are now accepting applications for our vacation scheme in 2025.The vacation scheme takes place in our offices in Gerrards Cross over five days between June and September. It provides a great way to get to know the firm and experience working in a regional law firm. It is also a good opportunity for us to get to know you and we regularly invite vacation scheme candidates to join our paralegal or training contract assessment process.Our programme offers students the opportunity to rotate between our six practice groups. During your week you will benefit from:<ul><li>introductions to each team</li><li>multiple networking opportunities with partners, associates, trainees and other representatives from across the firm</li><li>work shadowing with junior lawyers in each practice group, and</li><li>undertaking a mix of administration and paralegal/trainee tasks.</li></ul>Applicants must be studying or have studied for a law degree. &nbsp;To apply applicants should complete the online application form which includes a CV and cover letter.
