Accutrainee Training Contracts selection process has no deadline and is open all year round. You can apply to us at any time.

Our selection process is no walk in the park – but that’s because we’re looking for the best and we’re willing to put time, energy and care into finding exceptional candidates. Our clients demand the best and that’s what we deliver to them. We recognise that excellent candidates sometimes slip through the net because of personal circumstances or any number of reasons. We are not put off by this – we’ll assess your skills, competencies, attitude and aptitude. If we think you have the potential to become an outstanding solicitor, we want to help you become just that.

If successful, we will start matching you with placements available from our clients, based on your previous experiences, your set of skills but also your preferences. If you are shortlisted and selected for a placement, that’s when your training contract/QWE starts. 

You will be employed by Accutrainee and seconded to the law firm or in-house team for a fixed term period of typically 6 months or more. In this way we will take you through the 2 year training contract or QWE, mentoring you and supporting you every step of the way.

• Training Contract Pathway

Our unique Training Contract is designed around you and we focus on tailoring your secondments around your preferences both in terms of practice areas and type of organisation.

Accutrainee, as your training establishment, will continually monitor and assess both the work you are conducting, as well as your development throughout your training contract.

    Requirements

• A-Level (or equivalent)
• Qualifying law degree or GDL (please apply to us towards the end of your LLB/GDL)
• LPC (you can apply to us even if you haven’t completed the LPC)

OR

• QWE Pathway

With the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) route, aspiring solicitors will need to complete two SQE assessments along with two years of Qualifying Work Experience (QWE) to qualify as solicitors.

We can offer you interesting and challenging placements as part of your QWE that offers high quality legal work and excellent levels of responsibility. Not only that but during the time you are with us you will be offered mentoring and support from our expert team of mentors and graduate team.

Requirements

• A-Level (or equivalent)
• Degree (or equivalent)
• SQE Part 1 (our clients will want you to have some level of legal training and so if you haven’t completed an LLB degree or GDL, we are more likely to be able to place you once you have passed SQE Part 1)

Duties and Responsibilities

Depending on your personalised plan you may complete a mix of contentious and non-contentious placements with us. Candidates will have opportunities to develop different practice skills and gain the valuable experience needed to prepare them for qualification.

What we do know is that each and every one of our trainees receives high levels of responsibility as they are placed only when there is a genuine need for their help in the team. Our trainees need to be ready to hit the ground running and adapt quickly to become valuable members of the teams they work in knowing they can rely on an enhanced support system as well as mentoring to guide them every step of the way.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for candidates with strong intellectual, analytical and problem-solving skills, good communication and organisational skills with the ability to demonstrate resilience, commercial awareness, teamwork, a passion for law and dedication to succeed. 

Any mitigating circumstances will be considered during the selection process.

When to apply?

We are continually recruiting and do not have deadlines. Our secondments can start at any time throughout the year. Most candidates apply either towards the end of their LLB degree or after completing the GDL, LPC or SQE Part 1.
