About The Role

Been stuck in education too long?

You’re the kind of person who is keen to get on with your life. You’ve worked hard at school, college or university and are ready to apply your energy and passion to a new challenge.

A legal apprenticeship with Howes Percival is a great option no matter where you are in your legal career journey. This is why this opportunity is open to both an A-Level (or equivalent) or University graduate. If you are the type of person who prefers a hands-on approach to learning, then this role may be suitable for you. The training will be fully funded, and you can expect to be paid a salary right from the start, which will increase as you progress through your course and take on more client work.

The course and experience

Our training provider is BPP University. If you are a school leaver and are due to complete or have already completed your A-Levels (or equivalent) during your first 2 years you will work towards a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship, you will then carry on to complete the 4-year Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship. You’ll achieve a law degree and the assessment following this is the Solicitors Qualifying Exam. If you are a law graduate already then you can expect to skip the first step of gaining a Level 3 Paralegal Apprenticeship and move straight onto the 30-month Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship.

You’ll spend 4 days per week working for us and 1 day a week studying with the training provider. You will be assigned a supervisor who will work with you daily, assigning you tasks, giving training and providing feedback.

In the office your day-to-day work might include:

Drafting correspondence, legal reports and legal documents under supervision
Assisting solicitors with various tasks
Assisting with and researching for cases
Providing legal advice where necessary
Various administration duties as and when required
Could you be our next legal apprenticeships recruit?

If you have or expect to gain 120 or more UCAS points, are enthusiastic about the profession and if you have the energy and commitment to succeed, we want to hear from you.
