Our level seven solicitor apprenticeships herald a new era in solicitor training. Offered in conjunction with a leading legal provider, they will provide the chance to qualify as a solicitor following a six-year programme of work-based learning and part-time study. Qualification is based on assessment from the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and will result in the award of an LLB.

This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to qualify as a solicitor whilst earning a salary rather than paying the tuition fees required for full-time study. It also represents a chance to forge a long-term career at one of the world’s largest law firms whilst receiving an outstanding range of benefits including a competitive starting salary of £24,000 in London and £21,900 outside London.

The apprenticeship training will be delivered by a leading legal provider.

Eversheds Sutherland will support you with paid time off to attend classes together with study leave for assessments. By the end of the six-year programme, if you have passed their assessments you will get an LLB degree.

In the workplace, you will carry out supervised work-based learning in order to meet the SRA’s competence statement and will produce a work-based assessment portfolio. In addition to examinations throughout the apprenticeship, there will also be an SRA centralised assessment that you will need to pass to qualify as a solicitor, The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).

You will study a range of modules online and face-to-face covering the subjects currently required by a qualifying law degree as well as vocational practice areas and skills.

The modules you will study will be based upon those modules which typically make up a law degree such as Introduction to Practice, English Legal Systems & Research, Contract Law, Public Law, Criminal Law, Tort Law, Land Law and Equity and Trusts. You will also study those modules which typically make up the Legal Practice Course such as Business Law and Practice, Property, Litigation, Wills and Administration of Estates.

Our apprentices study for one day a week with a legal provider. This is currently Mondays. The learning is mostly interactive e-learning with other apprentices.

Throughout the six-year programme, our apprentices will complete a portfolio of work. This will show their development throughout the six-year programme.

Our level seven solicitor apprenticeship is available to people with a minimum of five GCSE grades A-C (including Maths and English) who are expecting good A-level results, equivalent to at least 120 UCAS points (BBB), excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking.

As a firm, our core values are teamwork, being client centred, continuous improvement, ac-countability, straightforwardness and mutual respect. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate these values and show a passion for the firm and their chosen apprentice route.

We are open to applications for our 2025 Solicitor Apprenticeship, recruiting into our London, Ipswich, Birmingham and Newcastle offices.
