Paralegal - various - Flex Legal
Flex Legal was originally conceived as a platform for law graduates to find fixed-term paralegal work. Law firms and legal teams would come to us with their workload challenges, and we would find the perfect paralegal to help solve them. Our organisation has changed a lot since then (we now also place lawyers and trainees), but facilitating paralegal placements remains the heart of our business.
If you’re a seasoned paralegal looking to explore new legal practice areas, or a recent law graduate hoping to build that initial bit of legal work experience, Flex Legal is here to help you! This page is full of information to help your application.
How the process works
1. Apply
Fill out an application form and submit your CV. Then, undergo a basic competency test and interview with our team.
2. Build your Profile
Create a legal profile on our platform, that we can show to our clients when they need support.
3. Work
When we find a suitable role, we’ll check your interest via text or email. If you're successful at interview, great! You’ll start and be paid fortnightly.
As one of the UK’s foremost legal work organisations, we receive hundreds of applications to join our platform every week. Flex is committed to helping as many paralegals as possible find work opportunities – but can only accept your application to the platform if we are confident that we will be able to place you.
For paralegal applicants:
- A UK-specific legal qualification such as an LLB or GDL is required as an absolute minimum.
- Prior experience in a legal or administrative role is an advantage.
We would also ask that paralegal CVs:
- Are no longer than 2 pages in length.
- List your education from most recent to least recent.
- List your work experience from most recent to least recent.
- Do not include photos or headshots.
- Use “professional” fonts such as Arial, Calibri, or Times New Roman.
Once you've built a profile on our platform, we will pass suitable roles over to you as and when they come to us - which you can accept or reject with no commitment required. Here's what our platform offers you:
- A digital CV and profile video that you can customise at any time, and is visible to potential clients.
- A digital availability calendar you control.
- Text and email notifications for new paralegal roles.
- Fortnightly pay.
- Access to our SQE journal, where you can record Qualifying Work Experience towards your SQE qualification.
- Access to our supportive and helpful team of Client Services Associates, who help you find the roles you want.
