We don't follow trends. We start them. We drive change and deliver more to make a tangible difference for our clients and communities. We are looking to recruit Paralegals to work in our Legal Delivery Centre (LDC) in Leeds.

The LDC uses streamlined processes, legal technical knowhow and cutting-edge technology to design and deliver routine or document-heavy legal services quickly and efficiently.

The LDC operates from the UK, Australia and the Netherlands - the LDC allocates matters to a team of Paralegals (headed by an Assignment Lead) with qualified lawyers used to support service delivery.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will work as part of a high performing team assigned to either Contentious, Corporate Transactional or Real Estate activity. There is some movement between teams as Paralegals are cross-skilled where practical to ensure the LDC has the flexibility to adjust to variations in demand. New staff will be engaged on activity that has a narrow scope, but you can expect the scope to increase as you develop.

You will work as part of the wider DLA Piper team and are likely to engage with stakeholders at all levels as you gain experience. Client exposure depends on work type and the specific engagement, although overall client exposure is frequent. Training opportunities and work quality are of the highest order and working with like-minded team members in a dynamic environment should ensure you excel and develop at pace.

About you

  • You will have completed or nearly completed a law degree (or non-law degree plus law conversion qualification) and will be available on a full time basis
  • It would be advantageous if the candidate is proficient in Arabic
  • Your academic record will support you being a quick learner and committed to excellence
  • You will be a naturally supportive and committed team player who thrives in a dynamic, and high calibre environment
  • Communication skills and attention to detail will be strong attributes, as will a flexibility to adapt to different activities
