We can confirm your prior QWE
If you have previous or current QWE but for whatever reason are unable to get this confirmed by supervising solicitors, our solicitor-led QWE confirmation service can help you secure your legal career. One of our QWE confirming solicitors can look at your QWE, ensure it meets the SRA requirements, and confirm it!
REMINDER - What is confirming?
QWE confirmation involves the verification of an individual's practical legal experience by a qualified solicitor or a Compliance Officer for Legal Practice (COLP). This confirmation ensures that the aspiring lawyer has gained the necessary skills and exposure to meet the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) standards.
Note: in most cases, you will already have an eligible supervisor who can confirm your QWE. Our confirmation service is for those who do not have an eligible supervisor who can confirm some or all of their QWE.Why choose us?
1) We provide a thorough, quality review process to ensure the QWE we are reviewing and signing off meets the standards expected by the SRA. 2) Our solicitor is SRA-registered and experienced in reviewing QWE against the SRA Statement of Solicitor Competence. 3) We discuss your QWE with you and your supervisor(s) to ensure your QWE meets the required competences outlined in the SRA’s Statement of Solicitor Competence, having verified your and your supervisor(s) details at the outset. 4) We support you to map your QWE clearly to the SRA competences, providing guidance and action lists to help you address gaps in your QWE or QWE record. 5) We conduct detailed conversations with you and your supervisor(s) to fully understand the QWE you have undertaken, thereby verifying the content and context of your QWE. 6) When we are ready to confirm your QWE, we provide you with a detailed report, outlining clearly the SRA competences you have achieved, the detailed work you have undertaken and the report is signed by all relevant parties. The report also includes recommendations for you to pursue following your QWE sign off, to support your continuing professional development. The final report can be used as part of future job applications and interview preparation should you wish.
Your report and all records of our interactions with you, and your personal details are securely stored in line with our privacy policy and terms and conditions.Step 1: We will pre-review your QWE record
First, we will pre-review your collated record of QWE to ensure it meets the requirements set by the SRA. We may also discuss your experience with you to gain a deeper understanding and ensure you have everything in place for submission to our confirming team.
If your QWE record is not considered sufficient to proceed to the next step, then feedback is given and you will be able to request one further QWE record review as part of the step 1 fee service.Step 2: Solicitor QWE record review
If we think you have appropriate QWE, you will move to Step 2 and one of our confirming solicitors will review your record of QWE (Step 2a). This includes acquiring feedback from your supervisor(s) at the organisation(s) where you recorded your QWE (Step 2b).
Our confirming solicitor is likely to want to discuss your QWE record with you directly before contacting your supervisor for a further review discussion. If your QWE record is not considered sufficient to proceed to the next step, then feedback is given and you will be able to request one additional QWE record review as part of the step 2 fee service (excludes any new supervisor interviews).Step 3: Solicitor QWE confirmation report
The final stage is your confirmation report. This maps out the SRA competencies achieved, and projects/tasks completed, and includes supervisor, designated confirming solicitor, and candidate contemporaneous declaration and signatures for lifetime record-keeping. Your report captures your lifetime QWE journey and gives you a clear understanding of your future learning needs. You can use the report contents to support your future Newly Qualified career path.
Once you have your report, you must upload relevant information from it onto your MySRA account. The SRA will then contact our confirming solicitor who confirmed your QWE to verify the accuracy of the QWE information you provided to the SRA.Summary of process
