Vacation scheme / Training Contract - 2025/6 - Capsticks
Applications close for this scheme on Sunday 5 January 2025.
Vacation Scheme 2025
From health to housing, regulators to emergency services, we’re looking for graduates who want to be part of a team that makes a difference to people’s lives.
There are now two routes available for becoming a trainee solicitor with us. These are:
- Applying to join us as a paralegal. Click here for more details of what life as a paralegal is like at Capsticks. Our internal training contract recruitment process takes place every six months. Around 80% of our training contracts are available via this route.
- Applying for our summer vacation scheme. The scheme will run in the summer of 2025 with 15 places available. Each of our vacation students will have a paid two-week placement in one of our Birmingham, Leeds or London offices. All students will have the opportunity to be considered for a training contract during the placement, available from September 2026 and beyond.
We are offering 15 places on our summer vacation scheme across our Birmingham, London and Leeds offices, taking place between 23 June and 4 July 2025. We’ll give you the opportunity to undertake real work as well as learning more about the legal departments and the firm with our people. Throughout the scheme, we’ll be assessing you for a place on one of our Training Contracts for 2026 and beyond.
Your placement will be in one/two of our legal teams where you’ll work on a range of tasks. Throughout your time with us, we’ll support you with a supervisor, and you’ll get constructive feedback on what you’re doing well and how you could be even better.
Should I apply?
We are committed to recruiting the best people to maintain our market leading position. We welcome applications from candidates in their penultimate year of a qualifying law degree or the final year of a non-law degree onwards. Candidates will also need to be on course for or have achieved at least a 2.1 (or equivalent) in their undergraduate degree. We also expect candidates to be able to demonstrate their commitment to a career in our specialist sectors and to be highly driven, but well-rounded team players, with good problem solving and communication skills.
As part of the assessment process there will be an application form, a video screening and an in person assessment centre day.
Candidates can only be considered for the vacation scheme in one location per application cycle so please choose your preferred location.
