Training Contract - September 2026 - TWM Solicitors
Deadline: 31 January 2025
For generations, we’ve been guiding families and for decades, advising businesses, building a reputation for our comprehensive and personal approach to law. Our legacy translates directly into our dynamic Trainee Programme, designed to prepare and inspire the next generation of top legal professionals.
Our trainee programme
Each year, we select between three and six trainees to join our team. Beginning in September 2026, our programme includes different training contract pathways depending on whether you have taken the LPC or will qualify through the SQE route. For those who haven’t taken the LPC, we will offer a Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) training contract which will be two years and nine months long and include the following:
- September 2026 – Three week office based induction to familiarise you with the firm, followed by a full time, online SQE1 preparation course, fully paid for by us. While studying online, you’re encouraged to spend part of your time at one of our offices, benefiting from the supportive, professional environment.
- January 2027 – SQE1 Exam
- January 2027 – January 2028 – Two six month qualifying work experience placements (“seats”). We strive to match you with your preferred departments, but we always ensure exposure to both contentious and non-contentious areas of law.
- January – March 2028 – Full time, online SQE2 preparation, with the course funded by us. Again, we welcome you to study in our offices as you prepare.
- April – May 2028 – SQE2 Exam
- May/June 2028 – June 2029 – Two additional six month seats to complete your practical experience.
Throughout your studies and practical experience, you’ll receive a salary, with all exam and course fees covered. For those who have completed the LPC, we offer a two year training contract with four six-month seats.
In addition to comprehensive training, you’ll work across multiple office locations, gaining broad exposure to different clients and cases. You’ll be paired with an experienced buddy for one-on-one support, learn from expert fee earners, and have the opportunity to experience cases from start to finish—immersing you in our ethos of personalized client service.
