As a Trainee Solicitor at Brown Rudnick, you will embark on a comprehensive two-year training programme designed to provide you with broad exposure to various legal practice areas. You will rotate through four seats, gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills under the guidance of experienced solicitors. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile cases, engage with clients, and contribute to the success of the firm while preparing you for your qualification as a solicitor.
We seek candidates who bring not only strong academic foundations but also exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving abilities, along with practical judgement and motivation. Whether you’re in the process of completing or have completed the necessary postgraduate studies by September 2025, we welcome applicants from all academic backgrounds who have achieved a 2.1 or equivalent to apply.
Interview Process: There will be a two-stage interview process with a presentation component during March/April 2025. Offers will be made no later than May 2025.

Responsibilities
- Participate in a series of six-month rotations across different legal departments, such as Corporate, Special Situations & Trading, and Disputes.
- Assist solicitors with legal research, drafting documents, and preparing case files. Handle your own caseload under supervision.
- Attend client meetings, take instructions, and assist in providing legal advice under the supervision of a qualified solicitor.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support ongoing cases and provide accurate, timely information to senior solicitors.
- Draft legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, and briefs, ensuring compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
- Accompany solicitors to court hearings and trials, taking notes and assisting with case preparation.
- Attending Firm funded Professional Skills courses, training sessions, and workshops to enhance your legal knowledge and skills.
- Work closely with colleagues across departments, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with the firm's policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- A completed law degree (LLB or equivalent) with a 2:1 or higher OR Graduate Diploma in Law with an Undergraduate Degree 2:1 or higher.
- Expected completion of the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or SQE 1&2 prior to September start.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
- A collaborative team player who can also work independently.
- Proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks and projects.
- A strong commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
