We pride ourselves on offering Trainee Solicitors the opportunity to learn within a supportive environment. Our intention is to ensure our Trainees qualify with all the knowledge and experience they need for a successful career in law and more importantly with a desire to stay and continue to grow within our firm. Many of our current Directors started as Trainees at the firm and to date we have always offered a contract of employment to those that complete their Training Contract with us.
Our firm
Our firm's roots go back to the early 1800s. Today, we are proud to have over 150 staff working in multiple offices across the East of England- from King's Lynn to Ely, Chatteris, and beyond.
We understand that people are the key ingredient to having a firm that spans multiple centuries, so we aim to offer as much flexibility as possible.
Benefits
At Ward Gethin Archer we believe that we offer more than just a competitive salary and benefits package. We believe there are other factors that make us different.
Work-life balance
At WGA we recognise that we work in a world where switching off can be hard, with technology giving us access to information wherever we are.
We believe that the right environment creates an opportunity for staff to deliver their potential.
We have a flexible leave policy, with no specific limits on the amount of holiday that can be taken in any particular year.
We also recognise that life-related issues can happen during working time, and have worked hard to adapt working patterns to suit our staff, whilst ensuring that client service remains at the forefront of our minds.
Over 25% of staff work less than full-time hours. Many staff work flexibly between offices and home, adjusting as necessary to suit client needs, as well as personal circumstances.
As part of our wellbeing programme we offer employees access to an Employee Assistance Programme, a confidential employee benefit designed to help you deal with personal and professional problems that could be affecting your home life or work life, health and general wellbeing.
Development
At WGA we strive to ensure that our staff are given the opportunity to grow and develop.
50% of our current directors trained and qualified at WGA. Many of our qualified staff started at WGA as legal secretaries, going on to study legal qualifications.
We train people flexibly, using the training route that works for them.

If you are looking for an environment where people come first then we may be the law firm for you.
We are commercially minded and focused on delivering fantastic client service, and we are not afraid to be judged by our clients – see our Review Solicitors reviews for evidence of our dedication to great client service.
