Ways to qualify with Elborne Mitchell LLP

To qualify through the traditional route, you will need to have commenced or completed the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) or the Legal Practice Course (LPC) by September 2021. Individuals choosing this route must have obtained a law degree or GDL and have completed the LPC before joining the firm. You will then be eligible to embark on our two-year Training Contract, during which you will also complete the Professional Skills Course.

If you have not yet started or completed the GDL or LPC, you can qualify with us by following the Solicitor’s Qualifying Examination (SQE) route. To do so, we require you to have completed either a law degree or the new Postgraduate Diploma in Law, and to have passed both SQE assessments prior to joining the firm. You can then begin two years of Qualifying Work Experience on our Training Contract.

Why Elborne Mitchell LLP?

Elborne Mitchell LLP undertakes ‘big firm’ work in a small and less formal environment. Our non-hierarchical structure fosters a supportive culture where trainees are encouraged to be proactive and fully engage with the work available. Our trainees work directly with partners and are given significant responsibility from the first day of their training, creating invaluable learning opportunities.

We aim wherever possible to retain our trainees as qualified lawyers with the firm and are looking for individuals with ambition, intelligence, and strong teamwork skills.

We generally recruit trainee solicitors one year in advance.

To apply, please email your CV and covering letter addressed to Kate Payne.
