Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship – Fletchers Solicitors

Location- We are predominantly based in the North West of England, with offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Bolton & Southport, as well as a team in Cambridge. If so, Fletchers Solicitors invites you to apply for our Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship, a 2 to 3-year programme designed to help you qualify as a solicitor while gaining hands-on legal experience.

What is the Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeship?

Is a 2 to 3 year programme in which you will study with the University of Law, the UK’s largest legal training provider, to prepare for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE).

The programme combines full-time legal work (five days a week) with a dedicated study day to ensure you are fully prepared for the SQE assessments.

Upon passing SQE1 and SQE2, and subject to a character and suitability assessment, you can apply for admission as a solicitor.

Who can apply?

  • Graduates with a law degree or a degree in another subject who are passionate about a career in law.
  • Individuals working in a legal environment who want to qualify but need structured support and training.

What experience will you gain?

As an apprentice, you will work within one of our specialist legal teams:

Clinical Negligence – Handling claims involving medical mistakes, from cosmetic and dental issues to catastrophic injuries, including birth injuries and delayed cancer diagnoses.
Personal Injury – Specialising in serious injury cases from road accidents, workplace incidents, and public liability claims, including fatal accident cases.
Private Client – Managing deputyships and trusteeships, ensuring compensation for our clients is protected and managed for their lifetime.
Legal Costs – Gaining valuable skills in cost recovery, drafting, negotiation, advocacy, and commercial awareness.

Main Responsibilities:

Speaking with our clients face to face, or by telephone and corresponding with them by email, letter or case management app, always in a professional and courteous way
Obtaining and drafting a full and accurate timeline of events based on the client’s instructions
Acting on instructions promptly, whether from clients or from training principals and supervising team members
Developing and maintaining knowledge of claims processes and best practices
Ensuring accurate information is taken and recorded onto the case management system
Monitoring and managing a task list efficiently to ensure cases are progressed appropriately
Ensure individual targets/KPI’s are met
Keeping clients informed of progress
Action correspondence on files and deal with accordingly
Assisting others with any other reasonable duties as and when required
Liaising with and taking instruction from supervisors
Adhering to data protection/GDPR & Fletchers office processes
Any other reasonable duties
